Creatine Kinase (CK or CPK)

Blood levels of CK rise when muscle or heart cells are injured. The amount of CK in blood also rises when skeletal muscles are damaged. Preparation: Avoid exercise prior to blood draw. Fasting is not required for this blood test. Results in 1-2 days.
